    Swallowing Basics

Swallowing is a reflex and essential to everyday life. People swallow at least 900 times a day: around three times an hour during sleep, once per minute during waking hours. We swallow food, liquids, medicine and saliva. We use 26 muscles to swallow.

Here are a few of our courses that we’ve designed that will progress you through more details of swallowing and dysphagia.
